To send a “Please Call Me” on the MTN network, follow these simple steps:

  1. Dial the USSD Code: Enter *121* followed by the recipient’s phone number and then #.
    • For example, to send a “Please Call Me” to 083 001 0001, you would dial *121*0830010001#.
  2. Press the Call Button: After entering the code, press the call button on your phone.

The recipient will receive a message indicating that you are requesting a callback.

Limitations

The “Please Call Me” service is subject to a daily limit to prevent abuse:

  • MTN Users: You can send up to 5 “Please Call Me” messages per day​.

Personalizing Your Message

MTN allows users to personalize their “Please Call Me” messages by adding their name. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Dial the Personalization Code: Dial *121# on your phone.
  2. Select the Option to Change Name: Choose option 1 to change or enter your name.
  3. Enter Your Name: Input the name you want to appear in your “Please Call Me” message. Note that the name field does not support spaces, so use dashes or periods to separate words.

You can personalize your “Please Call Me” message once per day.

Blocking and Unblocking “Please Call Me” Messages

If you wish to block certain numbers from sending you “Please Call Me” messages, MTN provides an option to do so:

  1. Dial the Blocking Code: Dial *121*2# and select the option to block numbers.
  2. Enter the Number to Block: Input the number you want to block from sending you messages and confirm.

To unblock a number:

  1. Dial the Unblocking Code: Dial *121*2# and select the option to remove barring.
  2. Select the Number to Unblock: Choose the number you wish to unblock and confirm.

Opting Out of Adverts

MTN integrates adverts into the “Please Call Me” messages. If you prefer not to receive these adverts, you can opt out:

  1. Dial the Opt-Out Code: Dial *121*3# and choose the option to opt out of adverts.
  2. Confirm Your Choice: You will receive a confirmation message indicating that you will no longer receive adverts in your callback messages.
